Ավելի քան երեք դար շարունակվող գինեգործական ժառանգությամբ Բարտոն ընդ Գեսթիեն հանդիսանում է ֆրանսիական գինեգործության պատմության ամենանշանավոր անուններից մեկը։ Այն հիմնադրվել է 1725 թվականին Թոմաս Բարտոնի կողմից՝ իռլանդացի, ով խոր կիրք ուներ Բորդոյի նկատմամբ, իսկ ավելի ուշ նրան միացել է Դանիել Գեսթիեն՝ հեռատես վաճառական. և տունը դարձել է որակի, ավանդույթի և նորարարության խորհրդանիշ։

Բորդոյի, Բուրգունդիայի, Լուարի հովտի, Բոժոլեի, Ռոնի հովտի, Պրովանսի և Լանգեդոկի խաղողի այգիներից Barton & Guestier-ը ստեղծում է գինիների հավաքածու, որն արտացոլում է ֆրանսիական բնակայքի բազմազանությունն ու հարստությունը։
